Five things an independent clinic does better than a chain, and how to show it

Chains have money. Independent vets have something chains find hard to buy. How to make families see it.

A chain can buy a building, an app and advertising. It cannot easily buy the thing families value most: a vet who has known their pet since it was a puppy.

1. You know the pet

You remember the dog that hates the table, the cat with the kidney numbers you have watched for three years. Make that history visible. When the family can open the pet's full record on their phone, signed by you, they see how much you know.

2. You answer the phone yourself

Families call their vet, not a call centre. Keep that, and make the small things easier: reminders that go out on their own, a booking that does not need a call, a report sent the moment it is ready.

3. You decide the treatment, not a protocol

A chain follows a standard plan for every clinic. You treat the pet in front of you. Write it down well: clear notes and a clear prescription the family can read later are what turn good care into trust.

4. You are part of the area

Your clinic has been on that street for years. The families who come to you tell their neighbours. Give them something easy to share, like a pet's vaccine record or a certificate on their phone, with your clinic's name on it.

5. You can change this week

A chain needs months to change how hundreds of clinics work. You can start sending reminders, putting records on phones and cutting desk time this week.

Where FetchWise fits

FetchWise Clinic gives an independent clinic the tools a chain builds for itself: appointments, records, vaccines, billing with GST, stock and reminders, with Sage drafting notes for you to check. It is free for now. Book a demo and we will set it up with you.
